The creative workshop Stonesculpting is ment for interested beginners and enthusiastic advanced. You're following your own idea, if necessary supported by a drawing or a clay-model, to work towards a personal sculpture with a powerful and clear form. Everybody gets intensive personal guidance.

Regularly there will be a short introduction about how to design and the influence of famous sculptors. Yvon van der Weide shares her knowledge and passion for stone with enthusiasm. The experience with the material, which has formed in millions of years, is a great adventure. Sometimes the stone wins, sometimes the sculptor.

The workshop is from monday to friday. From 9.30- 13.30h you can sculpt under guidance. Participants of the workshop Stonesculpting will stay at the luxurous resort or an apartment nearby, in Andalusia, Spain. You'll work outside, a few meters from the Mediterranean Sea, with a fantastic view at the mountains of Cabo the Gata. In between you can have a refreshing dive into the private swimming pool or the Mediterranean Sea.

Yvon van der Weide began 18 years ago with stonesculpting. She went to The Stonesculpting School in Amsterdam. The abstract and clear design of her work leaves space for the interpretation of the viewer. Ever since she fell in love with stone, she likes to share this passion by giving stonesculpting workshops in the Netherlands, Andalusia and the Loire.
